How to host a bingo night!

Take some inspiration from Mo Savage and host a bingo night for friends and family - have fun and raise some money in the process!
Mo Savage recently held a combination 60's disco and bingo night at her local golf club and managed to raise over £775 for her Cycle Cambodia sponsorship. The hall she used was part of her local golf club, and as a member she was able to rent it free of charge. If you are a member of a club or society, it's a good idea to see if they have any function rooms or halls available for use, and if not, you can explore local options when looking for halls to rent - councils can be a good place to start.

Mo filled the hall with NDCS balloons (have a look on your fundraising materials order to find out what's available), and the caterers at the golf club cooked a pea, pie and chips meal for everyone, at a reduced cost. This meant that Mo made the most out of the £10 entry fee that she charged. It was then time for 'stand-up bingo', a game where everyone stands up and then sits down as their numbers are called - the last person standing is the winner, and received a cash prize of £25. Reverse bingo in a way! Everyone paid £2.50 for the bingo card, and as well as this, a raffle number was printed on the back. Mo got prizes donated from friends and family, which included perfume, wine and chocolates. This was a great way to make money and Mo made about £250 from it alone.

Everyone then got down to the business of a 60's disco and danced the night away. The golf club provided a dj, lights and music free of charge.

With a few donations from friends, Mo made over £775, which is not bad for a night's work!
