Trek China pair raise over £3400 in only three weeks!

Read on to see how Linda Bradbury and Louise Crowdy raised over £3400 for their Trek China Challenge by hosting clothes sales for friends and family in their homes
Mother and daughter team Linda Bradbury and Louise Crowdy have raised an astonishing £3425 in only three weeks by holding a series of clothing sales in their homes.

Louise, whose son Sam was born deaf, and Linda are fundraising for their Trek China Challenge in May 2006, and are hoping to raise over £4800 between them. Linda works for Marks & Spencers and was lucky enough to have brand new sample clothes donated to her sales.

The pair simply let friends and family know about the sales and produced a flyer that they handed out. ‘We provided some wine and nibbles and it really just spread by word of mouth’ said Linda. ‘We designed a little leaflet which explained what we were doing and why. We really gave the NDCS some great publicity. People were really interested to see what the NDCS does and were really happy to give to such a great cause’.

Between them Linda and Louise have raised £3425 through the clothes sales in only three weeks.

While Linda was in the lucky position of working for Marks & Spencers, holding a sale can be a great way for anyone to earn lots of money for your trek. You can write to local companies and ask for donations, or simply hold a second hand sale at your house. Encourage friends and family to not only buy up, but donate their pre-loved items too. As Linda and Louise have demonstrated, it can be a fantastic way to fundraise!
