Trek Nepal Itinerary

Day 1

Depart London

Day 2

Arrive in Kathmandu

Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel for welcome meal and briefing.

Day 3

Kathmandu – Pokhara

4 - 5 hours rafting

Travel to Pokhara via the scenic and adventurous route. After breakfast en route, you can choose to take a white water experience. Between a series of thundering rapids, there’s chance to relax and enjoy the surroundings, including deep wooded valleys and high waterfalls.
Then rejoin the coach party and head to Pokhara base camp and your hotel for the night.

Day 4

Pokhara – Ghalegaon

6 - 8 hours trekking

After breakfast, meet your sherpa guides and cooks and drive together to the start point. You begin following the Seti Nada River through rice paddies and small villages. As you climb, you take in beautiful views of terraced fields and villages perched on the hillside. Stopping for a scenic lunchtime, you continue up to the camp at Ghalegaon (1641m).

Day 5

Ghalegaon – Tara Top

6 - 8 hours trekking

A welcome tea brought to your tent while you enjoy the early morning mountain views helps prepare for you for a very tough day. Trekking eastwards through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests, you’ll finally reach the grassy wooded knoll of Tara Top (Starlight Top). From here, you’re rewarded with 360-degree views of most of the Annapurna Massiv.
On a clear night, this campsite gives you a sunset like no other, with the Himalayan foothills dropping away before you towards the Ganges and the Indian plains.

Day 6

Tara Top – Parju

5 - 7 hours trekking

A slightly more leisurely day. Head off along a trail that contours around the mountain. It’s an area of exquisite beauty – shady rhododendron forest with overhanging mosses and lichens, where orchids hang from branches above you.
Descend to your campsite at the edge of the picturesque Gurung village of Parju, set before a backdrop of snowy peaks. The rest of the afternoon can be spent relaxing in the high pastures or exploring the nearby village of Sikles.

Day 7

Parju – Lamakhet

7 - 9 hours trekking

The day begins with a long, steep descent, dropping 780 metres as you head through terraced fields. From the valley bottom, you follow the Mardi Khola River. Lunch on the riverbank gives you chance for a refreshing dip before heading further upstream. If the weather is clear, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Annapurna II with its huge icefall and glacier, marking the origin of the river. This is the last night under the stars, camping for the night in a picturesque setting by the river.

Day 8

Lamakhet – Pokhara

4 hours trekking

Your trek ends with a half-day’s hike to the edge of the Pokhara valley. Breaking camp for the last time, a steep climb leads to a twisting path down into a valley bottom. After lunch, head along the valley floor to the awaiting transport, which will take you back to Pokhara and the creature comforts of a hotel. Tonight you can enjoy a meal together to celebrate your achievement.

Day 9

Pokhara – Kathmandu

After a short and very scenic flight back to Kathmandu, you’re free to spend the day enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the capital. The central Durbar Square, packed with stupas and palaces, the Buddhist temples of Boudhanath and Swayambunath and the riverside Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath are just a few of the sights on offer. In the evening, you can haggle for your souvenirs at the many shops and markets.

Day 10

Kathmandu – London

An easy start before heading to the airport for the flight home.
