Depart London for Quito.

Transfer to our hotel.

Morning flight to Coca. Here we travel by canoe along the Rio Napo and Rio Maduro to the Yarina Ecological Reserve. After settling into our lodge we head off for our first trek through the rainforest. Today we will see lots of wildlife, including insects, reptiles and rodents. We return to the lodge for dinner.

Early start, canoeing along the Manduro River. Here we will witness the diversity of birds in the jungle and listen to their morning concert. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, we prepare for a night's bivouac. We trek until lunch, where we have time to relax before continuing for several more hours to our bivouac in the jungle. Sleeping in a simple camp in amongst dense jungle will be an amazing experience and a complete contrast to the comfort of the lodge.

After breakfast we make our way back to the lodge. We collect our luggage and head up river by canoe. Our journey takes us into even denser rainforest – we may well see wildlife on the way and will begin to get a feel for the vastness of the surroundings. After lunch we trek through the jungle before continuing to the comfort of the Yuturi lodge.

This morning we will have our first chance to practise paddling in the canoes. After lunch we explore the Yuturi lagoons by canoe. After several hours exploring the lagoons, we will move onto Caiman Camp, which will be our second night in a basic jungle camp.

Early start to canoe through the Yuturi lagoon. Over 450 species of birds have been found in the area making the sounds absolutely spectacular. We return to the lodge for breakfast before canoeing along the Manduro lagoon, and then trekking through the rain forest to observe many plants and birds. After dinner we head back to the lagoon for nocturnal wildlife observation in a large motorised canoe. Night Yuturi Lodge.

Today we return to the Napo River. On the way to our lodge we visit a Quechua house before continuing our travels. We stop on Monkey Island for a short trek amongst the dense jungle before continuing on to the Yarina Ecological Reserve. We will have a late afternoon walk in the jungle before preparing for the evening celebration and our last night in the rainforest.

Today we head back by canoe to Coca and fly to Quito. Here we transfer to our hotel before relaxing and spending the remainder of the day exploring Quito.
