Kit list

Have a look at the kit list below to get a better idea of what you need to pack for your trip. Sleeping bags will not be required as all accommodation is in hotels. Contact Becca for any more information.

Kit List
T-shirts - one per day
Socks - one per day plus spares and extra for evenings
Cycling shorts - 2-3 pairs (wearing 2 pairs together will help against saddle soreness).
Cycling shoes - or suitable footwear e.g. trainers
Spare trainers for general walking
Cycling gloves - one pair
Cycle helmet - essential
Saddle or gel seat cover (optional but advisable)
Scarf to cover back of neck (to avoid sun burn)
Cap hat to cover head when not wearing helmet
Sunglasses
Water bottles for bike - should have a lid to cover the mouthpiece.
Bum bag for carrying small items while cycling e.g. camera, sun cream, tissues etc.
Small day-bag which can be used for extra items and be transported on support vehicle
Waterproof jacket - useful in windy conditions and in case it rains
Fleeces are always beneficial
Towels are provided on the boat but it would be useful to pack an extra one
Warm casual wear for most of week i.e. sweatshirt, tracksuit, jeans
Something slightly smarter for dinner on last night
Leg covering for visiting holy sites
Torch
Ear plugs (sharing with noisy room mates can prevent sleep!)
Swimming outfit
Carrier bags/bin bags - useful for dirty washing or wet clothing
Tissues
Wet wipes
Sun cream (minimum factor 20)
Lip salve
Insect repellent
Small personal medical kit - antiseptic ointment, plasters, knee support, bandage, pain killers, sting relief, diareze, dioralyte, immodium
Sudacrem, vaseline or similar (applied each morning and evening helps against saddle soreness)
Isotonic powders
Anti-bacterial handwipes or anti-bacterial dry soap
Toilet paper
Camera and film
Alarm clock
Ladies are advised to take tampons regardless of timing
Copy of passport / insurance policy

Pack as lightly as possible, preferably in a soft, robust bag.

This list is not exhaustive and also some items may not be required during the trip but it is better to have them than not!
