The NDCS Cycle Mexico 2001, what can I say - AMAZING! I hadn't been on a bike since childhood and signed up on a whim of adventure and the need for broader horizons with the added bonus of doig something positive for a charity rather than blowing it on a package holiday. Now did I get what I bargained for? Well I got much more. Before the trip feelings of anxiety were high - I'm never going to raise the money, I'm not fit enough, I haven't cycled enough, everyon'e going to be super fit. These anxieties melted at the airport, everyone was normal! The trip was wonderful, I saw some amazing sights, it was challenging and extremely rewarding, I amde some lovely friends with whom I am still in contact with and trying to persuade to do another challenge next year. The team spirit and support of the group and the NDCS team made Mexico special and I am only sorry it had to end.
