ITINERARY

Day 1

Flight from London to Amman. Transfer to hotel.

Day 2

Amman – Madaba - Mount Nebo – Dead Sea

We begin by cycling west through small villages, first stop the town of Madaba, known for its ancient mosaic church floor depicting the map of Palestine and Lower Egypt. We continue to Mount Nebo, the traditional site of the death of Moses, where we enjoy the spectacular view over the Dead Sea. After a picnic lunch we continue with a fantastic downhill into the valley and our hotel on the Dead Sea shore. Time for relaxing and a float in the Dead Sea.

Day 3

Dead Sea – Kerak -3 hour transfer Kerak-Petra

Today we start off south along the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. After lunch, an optional climb will bring us to the 12th century Crusader Castle of Kerak. After visiting the Castle we transfer to Petra.

Day 4

Whole day visit to the antiquities in Petra

A short ride will bring us to the area of Little Petra, just north of Petra. A hike through stunning desert and mountain scenery will bring us to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra, the rock carved city hidden in a valley behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains. We will spend the rest of the day visiting this rose red city. This evening you can visit the “Hamam”, the local bathhouse for a steambath and a good scrub

Day 5

Petra – Dilagha – Roberts Rock

70km

We begin cycling from Petra to “Rajeff”. From here we will start a spectacular ride into the Arava valley. After lunch we downhill through stunning desert scenery. At the end of the day we reach our bedouin camp at “Roberts Rock” where we have a barbecue and spend the night gazing at the stars and sleeping in the bedouin tent.

Day 6

Roberts Rock – Arava – Aqaba

From “Roberts Rock” we cycle to Aqaba, Jordan’s southern most town, and on to the shores of the Red Sea. We cycle through the lowest part of the Great Rift Valley with the granite mountains of Edom on the left and the limestone hills of Israel to our right. In the early afternoon we cycle to the finish through the busy port of Aqaba.

Day 7

Aqaba - Amman

Today we take a morning flight to Amman, where we visit a local deaf school. Tonight ends with a celebration meal.

Day 8

Amman - London

Return flight to London.
