Trek Kilimanjaro

The Marangu Route

Hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro is a challenge to say the least and is one of the mountains almost every trekker and mountaineer in the world wants to conquer. Kilimanjaro is more or less 24 miles wide and 49 miles long; it is more ecosystem than mountain. It dwarfs other regional landmarks like Mt. Meru and Mt. Kenya and  dominates the savannah of East Africa. The mountain consists of three peaks: Shira, Mawenzi, and Kibo (the highest point of which is Uhuru). We will be climbing Mount Kibo peak in this challenge.

The terrain for this challenge is extremely varied. Beginning in dense forests filled with trees, flowers and animals’ people can only dream of witnessing. We will then go through more rugged and rocky mountain vegetation, culminating in a trek along magnificent glaciers before the descent. We will be trekking through 25 degrees to minus 25 degrees in 10 days!

Join NDCS to witness the natural phenomenon of 20m deep glaciers on the Equator, in Africa! These glaciers are set to melt in the near future, so there is no better time like now to take on this challenge of a lifetime and witness this natural phenomenon!
