Important information about this trip

This is an Open Challenge. These challenges are organised directly by our tour operator and there will be other people raising money for different charities on the event although we aim to recruit as many people as possible from NDCS. The tour operator will be looking after the administration of the event and NDCS will be supporting you with your fundraising. Your sponsorship money will still be paid directly to NDCS.

Event Registration fee: £499
Minimum sponsorship: £3250
(of which £1300 is tour costs)
80% sponsorship (£2600) due on: 10 weeks before your departure
100% of sponsorship due in: 1 month after your arrival home

The tour cost includes international and internal flights, accommodation and food other than 3 meals when in hotels. All camping equipment is provided except a sleeping bag and sleeping mat.

The tour cost does not include inbound departure tax and fuel surcharge (if applicable), personal spending, tips for the local crew, or travel insurance.

You will be sent a full kit list by the tour operator.

Anyone with a general level of fitness can take part from 18 to 80+. You will receive a pre challenge fitness program when you register to help make sure you’re in top condition in time for your challenge.

Accommodation is in small traditional hotels or hospedajes for 3 nights, and we camp for 5 nights. When camping there is always plenty of (cold!) water to wash in whether it is stream, spring or lake.

The food will be wholesome, tasty and plentiful. There will be snacks and water available whilst trekking.

Rainfall is low, averaging 30-40mm throughout the year. It is often windy in exposed areas, and can be cold at night in the mountains. The weather in Patagonia is unpredictable so you must be prepared for all conditions.

Our team at NDCS will do everything they can to help you meet your fundraising target. You will be given a dedicated contact from our events team to give you fundraising support and to provide you with a few tried and tested fundraising ideas. You will also receive sponsor forms, and can request collection tins, an NDCS t-shirt and lots more to help your fundraising events to go off with a bang!
