A team from Thales Wells took part in the gruelling Thales UK Three Peaks Challenge in 2005 to raise money for the NDCS. The seven-strong team of walkers, plus two drivers, completed the tough challenge, and raised over £5,000 to help deaf children and their families in the UK.
Rob Kennedy was one of those who took part. He said: "We had to train before the event and we did some sessions around Wells and the Mendip area. Some people even gave up smoking for the challenge. We knew this was going to be a very gruelling task and as well as being fit we had to ensure we could work well as a team.
One of the hardest parts of the challenge came right at the top of Snowdon. Bad weather was coming in fast in every direction and as the conditions worsened we had to go at great speed."
Peter Gould, another member of the team said: "At the moment every muscle hurts! But once the pain had gone away I think I would agree to do it again".
